Outdoor and cultural experiences highlighted at CMT, GermanySunday, January 20th, 2019
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in Caravan, Motors and Tourism Fair (CMT) from 12 to 20 January 2019 at Stuttgart in Germany. The event was coordinated by NGCCI and supported by Turkish Airlines.
The exhibition was attended by more than 2000 exhibitors from around 100 countries in 10 different halls. The Fair put equal emphasis on both tourism and caravans (motorhomes) which comprise of going on holidays along with caravan with comfort and luxury of a home.
Nepal stand was located at the most prominent location, a decisive factor for visibility of the country, at the fair largest of its kind, estimated to be attended by more than 2,50,000 visitors, half of whom have the income to travel 3 times a year as per the organizer´s data.
Typical Nepali dance was performed both at stall and stage as a side attraction to showcase Nepal´s cultural richness and likewise documentary presentation was made throughout the fair.
Similarly, on CMT Nations Day, representative officials of 30 countries visited Nepal Stand and each of them were provided with souvenir kit bag and brief information with a welcome note highlighting the Visit Nepal Year 2020.
Nepal special tour packages were offered to generate on the spot bookings to visitors during the Fair and furthermore to attract more visitors each of the participating company offered one each tour package to winners of raffle draw for dropping their cards.
The event was participated by 5 companies from Nepal namely,
Annapurna Treks and Expeditions,
Precious Travels and Tours,
Royal Mountain Holidays Nepal,
Royal Mountain Trekking Nepal, and
The Explore Nepal.
NTB was represented by Mr. Bimal Kadel and KB Shah, both Managers, and NGCCI CEO Ms. Saraswati Maharjan.
Realising the significant potential Nepal has been continuously participating in this event since 1994 till date.
Germany is a prominent source market for Nepal from where 36833 visitors visited Nepal in 2018 registering 23.1% growth rate.
Nepal is connected to Europe prominently by Jet, Air India, Qatar, Etihad (Fly Dubai) and Turkish Airlines.
