Nepal Promoted at Fitur 2017, MadridWednesday, February 15th, 2017
MADRID, Spain, Jan. 23, 2017 - Nepal Tourism Board, along with 16 of Nepal’s private sector companies, participated the 37th edition of Fitur, the International Tourism Trade Fair, 2017, staged from Jan. 18-22, 2017, at Feria de Madrid, Spain. Internationally regarded as one of the biggest travel trade events in the world, it is a global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero American markets. The event this year featured 9,672 tourism companies, institutions and bodies from 165 countries and regions.
During these five days, Nepal Stall, with its traditional stupa design and presentation, witnessed a steady flow of business visitors and consumers alike. Along with other general inquiries, issues of safety and security and post–earthquake scenario and the progress of recovery were mostly commonly expressed by the visitors. The positive message of the post- earthquake recovery scenario and developing new tourism products was strongly messaged from Nepal stall.
Fitur remained a successful platform for showcasing and promoting the Nepalese tourism mission with its dimension of promoting nature, culture and adventure along with other emerging dimensions of tourism products, themes and packages.
The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) coordinated the event. Nepal Tourism Board was represented by Mr. Udaya Bhattarai and Mr. Santosh Kumar Ghimire- both Senior Assistant Managers.
