With the prime objective of showcasing new perspectives and development of Nepal as a destination, Nepal Tourism Board organized trade orientation programs to Indian travel tour operators in 4 major cities of India – New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The program kicked off in the capital New Delhi on 8th July and concluded with the 4th leg in Bengaluru on 15th. With 130 participants in New Delhi, 110 in Ahmedabad, 130 again in Mumbai, and 90 in Bengaluru, the program was successful in reaching out to almost 500 key professionals across major generating cities in India. India has consistently commanded a major share in the tourist arrivals, and with the Visit Nepal Year 2020 approaching quick, it becomes all the more important to upscale marketing and promotion interventions there. Kolkata, India, 10 July, 2019 The Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata, India, Nepal Tourism Board and Buddha Air jointly organized Nepal Evening Program, a destination promotion event on Nepal with special focus on the campaign of the Government of Nepal Visit Nepal 2020 on 10th July 2019 in Hotel The Oberoi Grand at Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Kolkata amid the presence of the officials of the Government of West Bengal and the Government of Nepal, the leaders of business sector and travel trade fraternity of both the countries, media, travel writers, leaders of Nepalese Diaspora in Kolkata and Nepal lovers among others. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) with an objective of promoting Nepal as an exotic Himalayan holiday destination for Lifetime Experiences in Europe has participated 102nd International Convention of Lions Clubs International, which was held in Milan, Italy from July 5th to 9thJuly 2019. Multiple District 108 Italy has hosted this year convention in Milano Congress (MiCO) Convention Centre. Lions clubs International is the largest service organization in the world, committed to humanitarian activities, with about 1.5 million members in 210 countries. This Lions International convention program in Milan has received more than 21000 participants from 150 different countries. This is the biggest Annual Global Event of Lions Members, to select their president and other different officials of the international club, In this conference Lions members came with their families and friends to Milan. In a bid to update the key East Indian Outbound Tour Operators on the Nepalese tourism products, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized Destination Nepal Presentation Event in the cities of Raipur, Ranchi & Bhubaneswar on July 1st, 3rd and 5th, 2019 respectively. The programs in each city primarily focused on orienting the Indian travel trade about the new and upcoming Nepalese tourism products and services for the taste of prospective Indian travellers. The NTB’s recent study has shown that there has been a strong demand from the prospective Indian tourists on product and service diversification that can give them experience of a lifetime. The Visit Nepal 2020 Secretariat has recognized renowned French photographer and film director Eric Valli as a Tourism Goodwill Ambassador for the Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign. To mark the occasion the VNY 2020 Secretariat hosted a talk program by Eric Valli prior to presenting him with the honour. Eric Valli has a long and strong association with Nepal and captured some of the most remote and inaccessible areas on film putting Nepal on the global map. Among his outstanding works is the capturing the salt caravan in Dolpo region, Eric Valli pays homage to the extraordinary culture of the region shooting for months at 15,000 feet. He has made lasting friendships with the Dolpo people and made a film called the Himalaya Caravan that was a 1999 Oscar nominee for the best foreign film. Advertisements for Nepal were incorporated in the in-train infotainment system to showcase Nepal among the audience who tune into the entertainment channels. Travelers from around the world travel through Maharaja Express for the experience and class it offers. The platform is ideal to reach out to the high-end American and European traveler in India with a mindset of vacation and is generally looking to explore nearby countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka etc. The train has cabins equipped with an LCD TV, DVD player, Internet access, individual climate control system and electronic safe. One hundred and fifty saplings of Weeping Bottle Brush Trees along with 30 other species were planted at the Tribhuvan International Airport New Arrival Terminal as a part of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 initiative to add to the greenery of the city with the objective of making it more welcoming and enduring for locals and tourists alike.
