Nepal Tourism Board along with Nepal Airlines Corporation, NATTA Far West and 19 private sector companies made a successful participation at the South Asian Travel and Trade Exchange (SATTE) Fair 2018. The fair held in Pragati Maidan, Delhi from 31 Jan - 2 February is the South Asias largest and most reputed tourism show. SATTE this year celebrated the success of Silver Jubilee and hosted over 1000 exhibitors of over 50 countries and 28 Indian states.
The Expo fair was inaugurated jointly by prominent officials of UBM, the organizer. As a prelude to the inauguration, the Silver Jubilee edition of SATTE, it was formally launched at Le Meridien amidst an august industry gathering from travel trade fraternity. The glittering ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. KJ Alphons, Minister for Tourism, Govt of India along with Mr. TS Rawat, Chief Minister, Uttarakhand.
SATTE provided a comprehensive platform to domestic and international buyers and professionals from across travel, tourism and hospitality industry along with national and state tourism boards to promote themselves through various platforms in the fair. This is the most favored industry platform and well supported by the Tourism Ministry of India which had introduced I-Pledge campaign to promote sustainable tourism.
The Nepal stall was visited by Charge De Affairs, Mr. Bharat Kumar Regmi and Mr. Krishna Hari Pushkar, Minister Economic of Nepal Embassy in New Delhi. NTB officials briefed them on the tractions and offers of Nepal and prospective joint programmes to be held in India for Nepal promotion. The delegates were highly impressed by Nepal pavilion which featured Nepal’s most saleable components- culture and pilgrimage.
Nepal stall received an overwhelming response at the fair all throughout the 3 days by interested media, tour operators, NTOs and consumers. From the amount of footfalls at the Nepal Pavilion, it could be seen that the Indian Trade is gaining back the confidence to sell Nepal again as in previous years. There were many queries about adventure tourism, religious tourism and the regular Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan package, Muktinath and Far West Nepal. Maha Shivaratri festival was widely promoted from the stall along with Pashupatinath and Muktinath as major products.
The fair was participated by NTB Managers Ms. Ranu Shah, Mr. Suman Ghimire, Sr. Officer Santosh Bikram Thapa and support staff Mr. Ram Prasad Lamichane.
