Nepal’s Successful Participation at SATTE, Mumbai WestSunday, August 21st, 2016

Nepal Tourism Board successfully participated in South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange in Mumbai, SATTE-Mumbai West, held during 19-20 August, 2016. South Asia Travel Trade Exchange is considered one of the leading travel trade shows in South Asia with leading Inbound, Domestic and Outbound travel trade in one place. SATTE Mumbai West is fifth edition of SATTE in Mumbai. SATTE Mumbai mainly caters to the travel trade sectors of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa creating platform for business exchange among travel agents, tour operators, international tourism boards, hotel, resorts, travel trade media and other service sectors networking with tourism at large.

Considering the facts that the potential Indian visitors are generally considered last minute planners for their travel and the month August is an advent of festivities after the summer rush among businessmen and professionals has come down, the travel trade exchange, SATTE Mumbai, has created a high hope among Nepalese Exhibitors to materialize the potentiality of west Indian market in the coming season.

During the Show, Nepal Tourism Board made discussions with travel writers, IT innovators, marketing and PR agencies. It definitely helps to think for new avenues and ways for promotion of tourism in Indian market so that Nepal can effectively promote tourism in India in coming days.

Indian Tourism Market is growing very fast. The UNWTO predicts that Indian market will register about 50 million outbound visitors by 2020. Nepal is getting a very small portion of potential Indian market. The year 2013 had recorded 180,000 Indian visitors while the number plummeted to 75,000 in 2015. It clearly highlights the need of focusing on tourism promotion in Indian market.

Nepal Tourism Board showcased its major tourism products in SATTE - Mumbai West. Heritage Tours & Travels, Nepal Holiday Maker Tours & Travels, Classical Adventure Nepal Travel & Treks, Adventure Himalayan Travels, Well Nepal Travel & Tours and Satyam Tours & Travel were the exhibitors from the private sector.
