Nepal Puts up Successful Show at ITE & MICE Expo 2016, Hong KongTuesday, June 21st, 2016
HONG KONG, China, June 20, 2016 - Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation and travel companies from Nepal: Crystal Adventures (P.) Ltd., Fast International Travels & Tours (P) Ltd. and Sunrise International Travel (P) Ltd. participated and promoted Nepal in the 30th International Travel Expo (ITE) and 11th MICE Expo organized from 16 to 19 June, 2016, in Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center.
The ITE & MICE Expo is an ideal platform for exchange of new ideas, new market products and to showcase diverse tourism products and services to the global travel markets. According to the organizer 50 countries from Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas, in total with over 650 exhibitors exhibited and showcased their destinations, products and services to the prospective buyers. Some 12,000 trade visitors and 78,000 non-trade visitors are expected to have observed the Expo.
The first two days of the Expo were allocated for the trade sector whereas the last two days were opened for the public. The enthusiastic visitors flocked the Nepal stall and queried about the latest travel information. Nepal stall also received many queries about free visa for Chinese nationals to Nepal. The decision of the Government of Nepal to provide free visa to Chinese tourists may have positive impact to increase arrival to Nepal from Hong Kong.
The Chairman of PATA Headquarters Mr. Andrew Jones, visited Nepal stand in the fair and remarked that there had been increasing queries about Nepal and that it was expected to boost the number of tourists visiting Nepal. Similarly, Mr. Kamal Prasad Bhatarai, Consul General of Nepal to Hong Kong, said that the Consulate Office was putting its efforts towards the effective promotion of Nepal in Hong Kong working in close connection with Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Hong Kong.
The President of NRNA Hong Kong also expressed his concern to work with NTB for effective Nepal promotion in coming days.
